CARESCO COVID-19 support
Above all, CARESCO is about people. Our projects are all aimed at serving the people of our local communities, but just as important are all those who contribute to our work - in many different ways.
Volunteers
Our volunteers are central to CARESCO; without them we would not exist. The organisation was started by volunteers and is run by trustees who are volunteers. The original staff were 'paid volunteers' who received an honorarium for their work. All of the activities are dependent on teams of volunteers, without whom we could not function.
Volunteering works both ways. It is what makes CARESCO the success it is, but it also gives something back to the people who do it. Volunteering can provide an occupation to fill spare time, an introduction back into work, or just the satisfaction of doing something worthwhile and being part of a team.
We can always use more volunteers. Why not contact us to discuss current opportunities or download a leaflet for more details.
Whatever you can offer in time and skills, we can use you.

COVID 19 Foodbank - Update 20th April 2020
The Sawtry Foodbank will continue be operational each Friday, but we are running a delivery only service. Please do not come to the CARESCO Centre to collect a parcel.
Please get in touch with us via email or telephone if you have a voucher and require a parcel for this Friday.
Telephone: 07743593863 / Email: foodbank@caresco.org.uk
We must stress that this service is strictly for people who are in a financial crisis. There are specific criteria, which we will be following to make sure that this service is not abused.
Virtual referrals can be done via Sawtry Infant School, Sawtry Junior School, and Sawtry Village Academy, as well as the Reverend Becky Dyball of All Saints Church and the Sawtry Community Centre.
A list of voucher holders will be published on our social media in due course.
For more help, please contact us.
We are working really hard behind the scenes to keep this service going throughout the COVID-19 crisis. We have been overwhelmed by the support from our community and local businesses. To all our supporters, we can’t thank you enough.
Coronavirus update 22/4/2020
This service has received funding to continue running Sawtry Foodbank to help 500 vulnerable people with emergency food parcels and an outreach programme of daily telephone calls for emotional and practical support including picking up prescriptions.
