Florence House
Florence House has an active social life in which residents can take part, or follow their own pursuits. We appreciate that each resident has their own individual interests, hobbies and pastimes, and we endeavour to support our residents to maintain this important part of their lives. Our residents are encouraged to lead the lifestyle that they choose, doing as much or as little as they want - residents can simply choose to put their feet up with a daily paper (by arrangement) or a good book or audio tape from the County Library which visits every month, or from the home’s own collection.
Our weekly programme includes activities such as arm chair exercises, reminiscence, quizzes, music and singing, movies and walks in the park. There are also arts and crafts, including card making, flower arranging, drawing, painting and crochet. Special events, such as local entertainers and visits by small farm animals are also arranged. There is a hairdressing room and a hairdresser visits once a week.
