Parnwell Primary School
We believe that Parnwell Primary School is a unique school whose ethos of inclusion and positive relationships with families underpins our values based on every child’s right to happiness, safety, enjoyment and success. Our ‘Believe and Achieve’ philosophy creates an environment where every child is valued as an individual and where all children can achieve their full potential.
In meeting the needs of a diverse community we celebrate our differences and are proud of our identity whilst respecting the rights of others. We respect all cultures by breaking down negative barriers and avoiding stereotypes. Parnwell Primary School has a dedicated, enthusiastic and talented staff, who work effectively in teams to provide a creative, inviting and stimulating learning environment. They provide a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities to enhance each child’s learning through activities such as music, sport, visits and visitors.
The staff at Parnwell provide good role models who promote positive attitudes and behaviours and support children in discussing and managing problems. Children are equipped with the resilience to achieve their full potential and to believe in themselves and their ability to contribute to society.
At Parnwell, we listen, we care, we nurture and support all children and believe in every child’s ability to achieve. We provide a safe and caring environment which meets their needs emotionally, socially, physically and educationally. All staff have a clear understanding of their role and responsibilities. They are always approachable.
Parnwell Primary School encourages parents and carers to play an active role in their child’s education through a well established open door policy. We support families’ individual needs in an open and welcoming ethos and always aim to be fair and honest in our relationships with all stakeholders.

We support children with a range of Special Needs. This includes children of high ability as well as those experiencing learning, physical, social or emotional difficulties.
The majority of children with learning needs are helped in the classroom and are supported by individual programmes of work. Some children with particular and identified needs are supported by Teaching Assistants (either individually or in groups), who work closely with the class teacher. Members of staff are able to draw on the advice and experience of colleagues including the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, Lead Behaviour Professional and Learning Mentors. Support and advice is also available from a range of outside agencies including a school doctor, nurse and educational psychologist.
