The Academy takes every opportunity to offer CPD on SEND to both teaching and support staff. In order to maintain and develop the quality of teaching and provision to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils, all staff are encouraged to undertake training and development. The training needs of staff will be identified and planned. All teachers and support staff undertake induction on taking up a post and this includes a meeting with the SENCO to explain the systems and structures in place around the academy’s SEND provision and practice and to discuss the needs of individual pupils. The academy’s SENCOs regularly attend the LAs SENCO network meetings in order to keep up to date with local and national updates in SEND.
The Academy works in partnerships with parents, carers, pupils and professionals to ensure that the transition to and from us is as smooth as possible.
