Guide Dogs - Buddy dogs for children
Guide Dogs ambition is to have a future where every person with sight loss has the confidence and support they need to live their lives to the full.
Part of this work includes our Buddy Dogs for Children.
Our buddy dogs bring a new friend into the lives of children with sight loss. By helping to develop their self-confidence, improve relationships and build a greater sense of trust, these dogs can have a hugely positive effect on your child’s wellbeing – and your family, too.
From mid August 2020, buddy dogs will be operating nationally.
Potential service users can call our Advice Line on 0800 781 1444. The Advice Line will screen for eligibility and book applicants onto their first training session if appropriate.
Existing service users can speak to their Habilitation Specialist before contacting the Advice Line.
