Educational needs catered for

The Beeches Independent School specialises in the education of children with Learning Disabilities within the autistic spectrum including aspergers autism and ADD/ADHD.

Class sizes are small and  can offer individual 1 to 1 or 1 on 2 specialist support and education to our students.

Children will have a Statement of Special Educational Need and each education programme is specifically and individually designed.

We endeavour to provide an holistic and diverse learning environment where children can thrive, feel nurtured and enjoy learning.

Programs & Curriculum – Tailored Education for Specific Needs

The Beeches follows a curriculum designed to be relevant across age range 10 to 18, allowing each student the opportunity to learn and develop skills, depending on their academic strengths and challenges, taking into consideration the triad of impairment of Autism.

This design makes meaningful connections for students, therefore maximising their potential for success access and independence.                                                                                                                                                    

National Curriculum Key Stage 2, 3, 4 and 5 are We also offer the AQA Unit Award Scheme.                                                                                                    

In addition the excellent teaching facilities all students are given the opportunity to excel in a wide variety of sports drama and art. Our mission is to create a relevant and purposeful curriculum for all  pupils.

The Beeches & The Maples Care Homes  -  52 weeks per year accommodation

The Beeches UK Ltd has been successfully operating for 12yrs as a Residential Care Home for young people aged 10 to 18 years suffering  with ASD, learning disabilities or EBD. We promote positive behaviour, high self- esteem and confidence; elements which we believe provide the foundations of lifelong success happiness and integration.

Year round specialist care and accommodation to all students attending The Beeches Independent School can be provided at The Beeches or The Maples Care Homes

The Willows Care Home - 52 week a year residential care.

Opened in 2004, Our largest residential care home, Registered to care for eight children aged between 9 and 19 years of age, this is home to our on-site independent school, The Beeches Independent School , 5 well appointed en suite bedrooms, with a large mature garden and allotment,

General Environment

The Beeches Independent School and Care Home are located in the beautiful Cathedral City of Peterborough, in Cambridgeshire, with its many cultural and recreational opportunities. Peterborough has excellent travel links being located off the A1(M) as well as being a major stop on the  East Coast train line with journey times of just 45minutes to central London. All the Home Counties, East Anglia, and the West Midlands as well as London are indeed readily accessible.

Ethos

The Beeches primary purpose is to offer excellent education, care and support to young people aged 10 to 18 who have a Statement of SEN , to allow personal growth and fulfilment within a social, emotional, physical and educational context and link this to the development and implementation of a care plan to meet their individual needs.  To guide and empower young people to take their place in society as informed confident and responsible citizens.

Staff qualification and selection

Our Manager, Head of Education, Teaching Staff and Carers are all chosen for their experience with children having special educational needs and for their vocational desire to contribute and make a difference for children placed with us.

Supported Living Care

For young people who have been resident with us assistance in finding suitable accommodation and Domiciliary Care provision at age 18+ can be available. Option One Care is our fully compliant CQC registered service.
