Welbourne Primary

Welbourne Primary
A warm welcome to you and thank you for taking an interest in Welbourne Primary School. I am proud and privileged to be the Headteacher of this family school where we have wonderful children and exceptional staff. We provide a caring school community where our children feel happy and secure. We pride ourselves on providing quality education for all the children in our care and we work hard to provide experiences and opportunities to develop and nurture their well-being. We are continually working to improve the resources and facilities we offer our children.
We know that by placing an emphasis on quality teaching and learning, where children are provided with a rich, stimulating and relevant learning environment, we are creating a strong foundation on which future achievements will be built.
We want to prepare our children for the next stage of their lives. Throughout their time with us we hope they become increasingly confident and independent as learners. We want all of our children to achieve success and return to school eagerly each day.
We place great value on a close working relationship with parents, wishing to build an effective partnership to support your children throughout their time with us.
You are most welcome to come and look round school and see for yourself our successes, our excellent Computing suite, our wonderful displays, our lovely recently refurbished classrooms, our excellent facilities outside and most importantly meet the children and see the high standards they achieve and good standard of behaviour they show

- Description
It is important that all children who experience difficulties or who have a specific need (i.e. educational, behavioural, social, physical) be catered for if at all possible and the organisation of the school is such that this can happen. The school is equipped with a toilet suitable for a child who uses a wheelchair.
Children with special educational needs have an individual education plan, agreed by teachers and parents. In some cases it may be felt that the Educational Psychologist should be called in to give advice, which may eventually lead, with the agreement of parents, to the Local Authority agreeing to an Education Health and Care Plan for an individual child.Welbourne School is the Autism Hub for Primary Schools
Peterborough City Council and a number of primary, secondary and special schools are working together to create a network of specialist hubs in schools across the city. These Hubs are developing to become ‘centres of expertise’ to help improve the support for all children with special educational needs and disabilities in all schools in the Peterborough area. The primary focus of a Hub is to equip themselves and other schools to support students with specific SEND. Some of these Hubs have a limited number of places for students. You can find out more about the network of Hubs on the Education page.
